Position vacant - Caretaker Groundsperson:
DUTIES AND CONDITIONS OF RESIDENCE
- Value of Caretaker's residence, electricity and water approx. $250 per week. A $200 cleaning bond to be paid before taking up the position, to be refunded if the flat is left in a satisfactory state at the conclusion of the appointment. Car parking available.
- Work in exchange approximately 15 hours per week.
- Under the direction of the Rector and Churchwardens to carry out the following:
Daily:
- Inspect grounds. Inspect, clean and tidy where necessary.
- Find out from Hall Booking Officer what hall lettings, and any duties relating to them (e.g. tables, trestles, chair requirements).
- Empty rubbish into garbage bins - Monday and Thursday nights put out garbage bins on street for emptying and bring in next day.
- When necessary mow lawns, vacuum leaves, trim edges etc.
Weekly, or on some timetable:
- Vacuum Vestries and staircase chapel and organ and choir loft.
- Sweep Memorial Hall Committee Room and stairs and vestibule. Wash at least monthly.
- Sweep Sunday School hall and Lower Hall and kitchen. Wash at least monthly.
- Clean hand basins (both halls), toilets and urinal, and toilet floors (or more frequently depending on usage)
- Clean and vacuum the Parish Centre and Seminar Room.
- Tidy carpark and courtyard and drives. Clear grid drains of leaves etc.
- Replace Toilet Rolls and Paper Towels
- Replace Light Globes where accessible
- Check for Weddings - required on hand
- Check Hall Bookings
When required:
- Clean halls after bookings.
- Other associated duties
Other Requirements:
- A quarterly review of performance and an inspection of flat.
