Pastoral Care Group

 

Our main focus is on the wellbeing and care of our parish community.   This is achieved in many and varied ways including communication, visiting, transport, involvement of former parishioners in quarterly activities and small social events.

 

How you can help

  • Talk to one of the Pastoral Care Team to see how you can contribute.

  • Think about people who are in need – and let one of the clergy or the Pastoral Care Team know.

Fellowship Groups:

 

Mothers’ Union:
Open to all parents – regardless of gender or marital status.

Meets at 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Seminar Room at St Alban’s.

Varied programme at meetings including guest speakers and social visits. For more details contact the Parish Office on 9876 3362.

St Alban’s English Conversation Group:

Conversation Group has returned.
This group began in 1993 and provides basic and conversational English skills, with many participants going on to study at TAFE and elsewhere.

The group meets in the main hall of St Alban’s from 10 am until noon each Wednesday during school term. It includes social outings, morning teas and attempts to provide snapshots of Australian culture.

Catering Groups:

​

The Breakfast Group:
Provides a light breakfast after the 8 am Sunday service at St Alban’s.

​

The Morning Tea Group:
Provides a morning tea after the 10 am Sunday service at St Alban’s.

​

Groups Assisting at Services and in Preparation for Services:

​

Duty Parishioners:
Welcomes parishioners and visitors to services, distributing service sheets and assisting with seating.

​

Lesson Readers:
Lay readers leading the congregation in the psalms, and reading the readings of the day.

​

Servers’ Guild:
The Servers provide invaluable assistance to Liturgical matters during our services.

​

Sanctuary Assistants:
Lay assistants provide invaluable assistance to Liturgical matters during our services.

​

Saint Alban’s Flower Guild:
Create floral arrangements for regular and festive church services, including wedding and memorial arrangements.

Also provide flowers for special functions in the church’s halls.

​

Saint Alban’s Brass Cleaning Team:
Providing the care of the church brass.

​

Saint Alban’s Sanctuary Linen Team:
Providing the care and laundering of the Altar linen.

​

Garden Care and Working Bees

 

There is a group who provide regular care of the garden. They meet every 4th Saturday of the month from 9.30am to 12noon to freshen up the gardens and buildings. Everyone is welcome to help.
