Congratulations on your decision to marry. This page will help you begin to plan and prepare for this important event. Please read it carefully and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

Preparation

A wedding is a very joyful and important occasion. It requires careful preparation. Such preparation will help you understand each other better, your relationship and your responsibilities as well as the nature of Christian marriage taught by the Church.

In this Parish, we take very seriously your decision to marry. We seek to guide you through a course of preparation which will explore your relationship, expectations, strengths and weaknesses, with the goal of achieving a successful marriage.

 

After an initial interview, when your application has been confirmed and the date booked, the times of other sessions will be discussed with you. It will be important that you attend these sessions so you may have to re-arrange whatever other commitments you have.

If you do not already attend St Alban’s, we expect you to make some attempt to do so during the period of your preparation. The faith dimension of marriage is very important.

Order of Service

The form of service used in the Parish is from “A Prayer Book for Australia, 1995”. Many people like to produce their own wedding Order of Service based upon this service and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

Arrangements

Arrangements for your wedding will be discussed with the priest when you meet with him.

 

The cost of a wedding is $1,500.00.  The fee includes the church, the celebrant (a member of St Alban’s clergy), the organist and the marriage preparation course.
